Crinch-crunch on the gravelly sand
Domestic houndpads meet stickle shell edge
And skip through salt-sting pain
Consumed by the runjoy
Commend my care in your next abode
Tide withdrawn
Sea slowslopes a sag of sloughed pool
Wormcast and crabbyleg playless scurry down
Behind are the stars and tight clams
I did what I could from your rescue day
Sniff to eat without taste of humancook
Pick up to play is the order of the day
Gallop to the chase a-vying one and all
Fish head, fish eye, fish every bit
How could we know your every move?
In the toxins of the fugu
In the alarm brought by dizziness
In the approach of stillness
In the agony of suffocation
Remember, life is sweet and short, dear doggy — farewell!
